Ingólfshöfði Puffin Tour
Details

The Ingólfshöfði Cape is located in a nature reserve on the south coast of Iceland and offers ideal conditions for a large colony of puffins nesting here from May to August. You will drive along the dunes in a hay cart pulled by a tractor and then walk about 3 km to the bird cliffs. The drive takes about 25 minutes each way, so we spend about 1 1/2 hour hiking around the cape.
The first part of the hike is up a rather steep sand slope followed by rocky ground. The second part is easier because of flat grass land. Please be aware that you need to be able to do this hike.
Please bring good outdoor clothing, the area is exposed to winds and rain, and sometimes sand storms. Good footwear and rainproof clothing are an advantage.
