Landmannalaugar by bus

We depart from Reykjavík and head to the interior geothermal area Landmannalaugar, often referred to as “The Pearl of the Central Highlands”. We journey through the beautiful countryside of southern Iceland and proceed along the roots of mt. Hekla.

Landmannalaugar’s colorful mountains are formed by centuries of volcanic activity in the area and the picturesque natural landscape in this raw climate is simply breathtaking. While there, we can enjoy a relaxing bath in a natural warm pool which was created when many hot and cold springs in the area combined, or take a leisurely hike in the surrounding rhyolite mountain paths.

NOTE: The guide will assist and recommend good hiking trails. Hiking maps are sold in the bus. Bring along warm layered clothing, a hat, gloves, good shoes, swim suit and a towel (if you want to enjoy the geothermal pool). We highly recommend bringing a packed lunch and snacks.
