Silfra Snorkeling |Daytour with Transfer ab Reykjavík

The Silfra crevice in Thingvellir National Park is one of the world’s most popular and beautiful places among snorkelers. Due to the crystal clear water, visibility is over 100 meters on sunny days. Moreover, Silfra Fissure is the only place in the world where you can swim between two continental plates.

Professional training or a diving license are not necessary for this. The snorkeling adventures are therefore suitable for everyone and offer a special experience, even for experienced snorkelers. Silfra Fissure is located about 40 minutes by car from Reykjavik and is in the middle of Thingvellir National Park, which has been an official UNESCO World Heritage Site for several years. During your snorkeling trip, however, you will search in vain for fish or other sea creatures, as they rarely stray into the crevice. But algae provide a beautiful color spectacle. The green to red algae threads cover the rock formations of the crevice and thus provide a unique atmosphere and colorful underwater landscapes.

• Professional training or a diving license are not necessary for this. Therefore, the snorkeling adventures are suitable for everyone. However, you should be in good physical condition.

For your safety, all participants must:

• have read, signed and followed the online medical declaration for snorkeling in the Silfra.
• have a medical form for snorkeling signed by a doctor if you are 60 years or older
• sign a liability release form at the beginning of the snorkeling trip
• Be at least 150cm / maximum 200cm tall
• be at least 45kg / maximum 120kg in weight
• fit into the size chart for dry suits
• be at least 12 years old and weigh at least 45kg
• be comfortable in the water and able to swim
• be physically fit
• be willing to wear a tight and restrictive dry suit
• be able to communicate in English
• not be pregnant
